Decision Making

The highest authority in Økosamfundet dyssekilde is the member meeting. Here all members have the possibility to have direct influence on all decisions, and everyone can put something on the agenda.
The meetings take place every 3 months on a Sunday, and here we make decisions on both practical matters such as parcellation and budget, and the more theoretical ones, dealing with opinions and principles about the present and future of the village.
The meetings are characterized by lots of discussion, good-humoured coffee breaks and good talks across the ”boundaries” of housing groups and generations. Every member over 18 has one vote, and decisions are made by majority vote.

The Executive Committee

At the members meeting in April we elect the executive committee, which consists of 5-7 members, elected for 2 years at a time. The committee, like all other working groups, works for free and among its tasks is the contact to the other working groups, and to make sure that decisions made at the members meeting are carried out. We try to have a representative of each of the housing groups in the committee, and the minutes of their meetings are printed in our weekly newsletter.
