Waste

To recycle, reuse and manage our waste in an environmentally sound way have been one of our goals from the very beginning.

The Waste Management Station

In the spring of 2009 we communally build our new waste management station, which is now overlooked by the waste management working group, who have the contact to the local council, the refuse company and the village. And taken care of by 2 voluntary janitors.
The station is 20 meters long and divided into 3 sections: in one end we have containers for glass, cardboard, biodegradable waste for bio-gas production and the leftovers when we have sorted it out in the remaining fractions which are in the middle room. Here we have containers for paper, batteries, energy saving light bulbs, metal, plastics and 5 or 6 more fractions.

The Local council picks up our glass, paper, biodegradable waste and the leftovers. A local refuse company is paid to pick up cardboard and soft plastics for recycling, and the rest is taken to the council waste management station for recycling by our waste driving working group
The last room in the station is our recycling shop where we put clothes toys etc. we think someone else could use. It’s all free of charge and the, and the recycling shop working group keeps the place neat and tidy.

Inspiration

We hope this scan inspire others. Here you can find a pdf with all the fractions we divide our waste into.
