In order to be self-sufficient with energy we build the first windmill in the area in the mid 1990ies. To begin with the locals were against it, but the council supported us, and the attitudes slowly changed. Now there are 6 other windmills in the area.
Our mill is communally owned by the association Halsnæs Møllelaug in which roughly half of the villagers are members. It produces 450 kilowatts, which is enough energy to cover the need of 2 and a half times the houses in the village.
